About IMPower

After following the traditional roadmap of going to college and then excelling in our careers, we didn’t quite get the happily ever after we assumed that was supposed to follow. We weren’t exactly swimming in time and money, and realized pretty quickly that we felt stuck. We weren’t quite making the impact we truly wanted, nor did we have much time left after being dedicated employees who excelled quickly to the glass ceiling at work.

What’s next when you hit a glass ceiling at work?

Thats when we started searching for an answer. That answer came in the form of incredible coaches in our lives. We got intentional about learning from people who lived the lives we wanted, without giving up the balance we knew we needed. After networking and building relationships with numerous successful business individuals, we chose to work with coaches who could help us navigate online businesses that could create a low-risk opportunity with the upside of true scalability and automation. Working in the eCommerce industry has now enabled us to grow a company across the United States and in several international markets including England and Latin America.

The fulfillment we’ve gained after restructuring our lives to become independent from career income has been exponential.

Anyone can take a small amount of risk.

When we chose to become entrepreneurs, we were met with skepticism. Our loved ones were wary. Everyone knows that starting a business incurs risk. Fortunately, in today’s times, there are so many ways to start and run a venture that you have the option to start small and only take on as much risk as you’re comfortable with. We started by investing $200 a month, and it was life-changing. Since that small start, we’ve been able to slowly scale our business up to a point where it has become truly impactful.

About the team

My life had been measured by my tenacity in athletics. Standing a 5'0 and 105 lbs, receiving nicknames like Sarge and Big D, sum up my personality and work ethic on and off the court. Sports were always an arena where I could excel and win, proving that hustle can beat talent.

There was a huge void in my life after being a collegiate athlete, then globe trotting and transitioning into a lucrative sales career. I came to terms with limitations of corporate culture and made the pivot to explore the entrepreneurial space. I quickly found a place where I could win again with no limits and where I could be #UnapologeticallyMe in my work ethic and results. Applying the same principles as I did in athletics, I was fortunate enough to develop a relationship with a business 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝, 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙖 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙧. As of a function of that relationship, my husband and I have since learned how to scale up multiple ventures outside of our careers.

I ride motorcycles and have a pretty sassy reputation of beating all the men in pick up basketball games at LA Fitness. I am a wife of 7 years, who loves to travel with her British husband (17 countries and counting), and I am an activist for people everywhere to stand up and make an impact.

Watching my father retire as a teacher in the education system, I teetered between feeling obligated to choose a profession with high impact but low salary, versus high salary but little impact. The sad truth is that it’s nearly impossible to find a career that checks both boxes.

I knew I had a lot more to offer the world than just being a cog in the wheel, and I also didn’t want my message to the world to be IT project management. I have a tremendous desire to progress in the philanthropy world. But what I realized is that I must first WORK to GET so that I can GIVE. We can’t give what we don’t have.

But naturally, I followed “the plan” and became a teacher just like my father. Once seeing that the impact I wanted to make would be crushed by a bunch of red tape, low salaries, demanding overtime, my energy dwindled. That’s when I met a few successful entrepreneurs who empowered me to grow myself and my finances. Understanding that this was the way that I could create a larger impact with much more fulfillment, I leaned into their coaching and built relationships with them that have impacted every area of my life over the past decade.

As an athlete, I understood that if I truly wanted to become the best version of myself and find the financial success I was looking for, I needed a coach not only in athletics but also in the business world. It’s truly amazing what we can accomplish when we learn from the right people who are where we want to be in life.

I’m truly grateful that I met my people. Now let’s see if we might become yours.

We’re here to give back.

Since finding ways to automate our methods and teach others, we realized we could take this systematic approach to impacting more people, and we formed IMpower Development Group in 2015. We are truly grateful that we met our people. Now let’s see if we might become yours.
